The challenge for the architect was to design a free flowing, highly functional home for a family of five. Knotwood’s aluminium white ash battens and neutral colour pallet reflect the clients minimalist detailing. The monochromatic tones mimic the natural hues found in the coastal environment.
The linear geometry used on the front facade seamlessly conceals the garage door lengthening the detail for a continuous uninterrupted look.
On the second elevation a screen of horizontal white ash lines add textural interest while providing both sun protection and privacy.
Due to its location, weather resistance and minimal maintenance was paramount when deciding on materiality.
